How the reconstruction of Karen Read's taillight from fragments found in front of 34 Fairview over a 3-week period may have inadvertently boosted the defense's case.
I can’t thank you enough for this, Andrea. I’ve been rewatching testimony and trying to figure this very thing out all weekend. Where is the evidence bag for the pieces found on January 29tb? I thought I must have missed it.
I am still surprised this case is still in court considering the mass amount of inconsistencies, even with their own evidence collection. It might not be so suspicious too if so many witnesses seem to have amnesia to events or changes in stories. They could have just had poor evidence collection habits, which is still astounding. But collectively, as you said here, the simplest explanation to why this looks like a frame-up is because it is one. I look forward to the eventual documentary lol and I am not a fan of documentaries.
I’m curious to see if there is any documentation about when they actually arrived at the sally port. I have only been following this case for a short time, but have heard there is some missing video from the other angle. Here is what makes me suspicious and what I am curious to see if there are answers:
1) when the prosecution walked through this video, he clearly identified himself (not the tow truck driver) as the person who pulled the car into the sally port, but waffled and said ‘it might be the tow driver’ on cross.
2) The garage is heated, yet there is an exact footprint of the same size car in snow before they pull in. What car was there just prior? One of the first things they did in this video was to start sweeping up the snow, so whatever car was just there: the snow didn’t melt and no one swept it up.
3) compare the snow on the car on the tow truck from the exterior vs when they pull into the interior. Since we are looking at the drivers side in the sally port, this isn’t a good comparison, but it does look like the back passenger window was cleaned off at some point.
4) no one (so far) has testified to the timestamp on the sally port video, right? Wouldn’t Lally have asked to confirm the time in the same way he did with the exterior one?
I’m not a believer in a mass conspiracy, but I do think it is entirely feasible we are not watching the first interaction with this car. It’s likely that the tow truck driver dropped the car outside (I’ve never had a tow truck driver actually drive a car..they always just tow. They are very good at pushing it to the place it needs to be.) and proctor or one of the Alberts may have been there when that happened and could have had access prior.
I also don’t think proctor or bukhenick have to knowingly be in on any cover up. They could just think that Karen Read is guilty and be morally sketchy enough to fudge the ‘evidence’ to make sure she doesn’t walk.
Either way, the consistent thing about this trial is way more deference is being given to every other police officer than has ever been given to John O’Keefe. It’s sad. 😔
Since the reliability of the sallyport video is already questionable - undisclosed mirroring, unexplained skipping - it does raise the question of why the timestamp would be more reliable than the rest. I understand the tow truck driver is on the defense witness list, so he should have a time of arrival documented as well.

Excellent work Andrea. The effort you put forward on this case is refreshing.
