Key moments from the hearing on Bryan Kohberger's motion to compel production of evidence
Some bombshells were dropped during last Thursday's hearing that continue to suggest the case rests on very shaky foundations.
As anticipated, Thursday’s motion hearing in State v. Bryan Kohberger provided some nuggets of information about how the State built its case against Bryan and what its case consists of. Previous litigation, in particular the motions surrounding defense efforts to discover information about the State’s investigative genetic genealogy work, has revealed that investigation occurring after Bryan’s arrest failed to uncover evidence corroborating his involvement in the crime that one would expect to find given its nature - contacts of some kind between Bryan and the victims, and DNA of the victims inside Bryan’s car (which police allege he drove to and from the commission of the murders), apartment, or office.
